I’m Brian Wilson — lifelong Central Illinois guy, lifelong dog owner, and now owner and head trainer at Wilson’s Dog Training. Dogs have been part of my life for as long as I can remember, and turning that into a career built around helping other families get the dog — and the relationship — they actually want has been one of the best decisions I’ve made.
In 2018, I became a Certified Master Dog Trainer & Animal Behavioral and Communication Specialist through the Academy of Canine Communications. In 2021, I went further, training under Michael and Bart Bellon — two of the most respected names in the world of dog training — through their Silver and Gold NePoPo® program. NePoPo® taught me how to communicate with dogs in a way that builds real trust, so they work with you out of connection, not just compliance. It changed how I train, and it’s the foundation of everything we do here.
Wilson’s Dog Training offers a range of programs to fit where you and your dog are right now, from foundational obedience to advanced behavior work — you can see the full lineup on our Services page. Every dog and every family is different, though, so if you don’t see exactly what you need listed, reach out. We’ll build a plan around your dog, not the other way around. Payment plans are also available — just ask.

Co-Owner, Secretary, Trainer, Doggie Bus Driver & Kennel Technician
Hi, my name is Carla Wilson! Brian Wilson and I launched our business in 2018. I wear many hats here at the kennel. If you call, I will most likely be who you talk to to set up trainings, boarding or daycare. My favorite thing about owning our business is getting to hangout with all the dogs! I also enjoy meeting and getting to know so many new people!
Trainer/Kennel Technician
Hi All I’m Heather Seward, I have been employed with Wilson’s since April 2021. I started as a kennel technician and later transitioned into a training role under Brian’s amazing leadership. I’ve always had a love for animals especially dogs and horses. To see the progress and growth in the dogs during the four week board and train is just one of my favorite things about my job. I also love watching a dog build confidence to face the world without as much fear. It always brings tears to my eyes. Proud is an understatement. We truly have an amazing team here at Wilson’s. I love building relationships with my teammates, clients and those amazing fur babies!
Kennel Technician
Hi, I’m Carley Seward! I’ve been part of the Wilson’s Dog Training family since August 2021, and it’s been incredible to grow alongside the business over the years.
I started as a kennel technician, spending my days caring for dogs and learning the ins and outs of the dog world. Since then, my role has evolved into a little bit of everything. From managing our website and social media to marketing, answering calls and texts, scheduling appointments, running the Doggie Bus, and helping wherever I’m needed, every day looks a little different—and that’s one of my favorite parts of the job.
What I enjoy most is getting to know the dogs and the people behind them. Watching a dog gain confidence, learn new skills, and strengthen their bond with their family is something I’ll never get tired of seeing. I’ve also loved being part of Wilson’s growth and seeing how much we’ve accomplished as a team over the years.
When I’m not at work, you’ll find me spending time with my yellow Lab, Jake, my Maine Coon, Rooster, and my cat, Henry. Animals have always been a huge part of my life, and I feel lucky to spend every day doing something I genuinely love.
Kennel Technician
Hi everyone! My name is Abigail Yocum and I’ve been a kennel tech at Wilson’s for over a year, I started back in 2025. I also work at a vet clinic in the mornings before coming to work with your awesome dogs here at Wilson’s! I have a few animals of my own but I like to say anyone that walks through the doors at Wilson’s is now apart of my family until they leave! Everything I do at Wilson’s has made me more knowledgeable about dogs and I cant wait to learn more!
